About College
Seemanta Engineering College, Mayurbhanj was started in 1997 by Seemanta Mahavidyalaya Samiti. The Samiti was founded by late Shri Paresh Chandra Basa. It began with the objective of spreading technical education especially among the rural community who lacked such facilities. It also seeks to produce quality human resource.

Extra Curricular Activities:
- The College publishes a Quarterly News Bulletin ‘TECHNO SEC’ & Annual Magazine ‘TECH BEACON’
- Organizations such as NSS, SSG have active working bodies in the college that promotes community service through student participation
- Blood Donation Camp is organized on a regular basis by the working body of RED CROSS Society present in the college. The college has donated a record 501 bottles on a single day in 2004.

- MAYUR FEST – It is the annual function to be celebrated in the college
- ROTA FEST & EUPHORIA – These are the fests to be organized by the Youth Clubs of the college.

- GOLD MEDAL in BPUT Tech fest in the event of Technical paper presentation on ‘Intelligent Instruments’ in 2006.
- GOLD MEDAL in BPUT Tech Fest in the event of Technical paper presentation on ‘The Role of Computers in Biotechnology’ in 2006.
- Bronze Medal in Classical Instruments at BPUT Tech Fest 2006
- Bronze Medal in Long Jump at BPUT Tech Fest in 2006
- Gold Medal in 800 and 1600 meters race at BPUT Tech Fest in 2007
Scholarships:
The society offers financial assistance to meritorious students in the form of scholarships based on certain criteria. It offers ‘Paresh Chandra Basa’ Memorial Scholarships for meritorious O-JEE Rank Holders.
