Mailam Engineering College was established in the year 1998. The college is an autonomous institute situated in the Villupuram district. The college offers 6 undergraduate courses and 6 postgraduate courses in the field of engineering to the students. The college campus is built in an extensive campus of 42- acres and provides all vital facilities to impart quality of education to the students. The College is one of the top engineering colleges in Villupuram dist. The college has qualified and experienced faculty members to educate the students.

In addition the students of final year are also undergone in training projects in industries. Students have undergone for training in companies like Wipro, BSNL, Lenovo Pvt. Ltd., HCL Info system, and many others.

Mailam Engineering College has won 1st Prize in NASA Paper Presentation. The 2 students of college stood first in presentation the 2011 International Workshop on Environment & Alternative Energy at Netherlands which is a international credit for the college.
