About College
Mahishadal Raj College was founded in the year 1946 by the “Raja” of Mahishadal Kumar Debaprasad Garga Bahadur. The college is affiliated to the Vidyasagar University and is accredited grade B by NAAC. The College is also a Community College which is affiliated to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) GOVT. OF INDIA, and to the GOVT. of West Bengal. The college offers several under graduate and post graduate programs in the field of Arts, commerce, and science to the students. The college has qualified and experienced faculty members for educating the students of the college.

Library |
The college has a well stocked library. It has about 38,000 books reference books, manual, encyclopedia etc in central library & 2500 books in departmental library. It has 10 magazines and has subscribes around 19 journals on various subjects. It addition to books it also have 10 audio cassettes & 10 CDs. The library has links with the libraries like (BCL) British Council Library, V.U., Central Library, etc. |

The college runs 2 hostels. One hostel outside campus for the Boys and other inside campus for accommodating girls. |

The college also provides scholarships to the eligible students. the college offers with certain awards or scholarships like D.P.Garga Memorial Award, Amulya Charan Das Scholarship, Gangadhar Acharaya Scholarship etc. They also gets financial assistance by Jindal trust, Teachers Councils and many others. |
