About College

Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology (LMCST) was established in 2002 by the “Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society”. The vision of the Lourdes Matha Educational Society is to establish a “Centre of Excellence” in the field of Engineering and Technology to mould world class professionals.

  • The College is governed by a Governing Board consisting of 25 members. His Grace Mar Joseph Perumthottam, the Archbishop of Changanacherry is the Patron and Spiritual Guide and Rev.Dr. Mani Puthiyidom, Vicar, Lourdes Forane Church is the President.
  • The College is spread in 25 acres of land at Kuttichal, Thiruvananthapuram.
  • The college has been approved by the Govt. of Kerala and the (AICTE), New Delhi
  • It is affiliated to the University of Kerala
  • The college is an ISO 9001:2008 certified Institution

Library

  • The library has over 23000 books and about 100 national journals covering various disciplines of Engineering and Technology.
  • It provides a 12 mbps internet connection service in the library for online reference of journals and Internet access.

Computer Lab

  • Institute has 13 numbers of computer labs and there are total 535 no. of computers available with core i3 processor.
  • All systems are connected with LAN and 10+2 Mbps internet bandwidth

Hostel

  • The college has separate hostel for boys and girls.
  • St. Thomas boys Hostel is a three storeyed building with the capacity of 210 students
  • Assisi Ladies Hostel for girls has the accommodation of 75 students.

Sports

  • The college has outdoor facilities like two volleyball courts, handball court cricket and football courts, shuttle badminton courts, basketball court and athletic field.
  • In indoor facilities like table tennis, gymnasium, boxing, caroms and chess is also provided.

Clubs:

  • Robotics Club- An industry initiative promoted for nurturing the new trends in the field of “Robotics. It is done in partnership with IIT Bombay.
  • Photographic Club- It is a start up initative to attract as well as encourage the art of photography. Both the faculty members and students with a taste of this art are participants in the club.

Festivals:

  • Equinox- a technical and cultural fest
  • HASTHA2K14- Onam Celebration

Awards:

  • Student of MBA got 1st Rank in the Kerala University MBA Examination April-May 2013
  • B.Tech (IT) seventh semester secured 5th Rank in the University examination 2013
  • B.Tech (CSE) seventh semester got 6th Rank in the University examination 2013
  • Got Gold medal in the TVM district Weight Lifting Championship organized by the Kerala sports Council (2004-2005).
  • Women Softball team secured third position in the TVM district Championship 2003-2004
  • Got one silver & bronze medal in the Kerala University Power Lifting Competition 2006-2007

Scholarship:

  • Scholarship of Rs. 10000/- is available for meritorious students
  • 100% scholarship for tuition fees to rank holders below to 5000 in the KEAM
  • 50% scholarship for tuition fees to rank holders upto 10000 in the KEAM
  • Scholarship is provided to those student from Syro Malabar Community on recommendation from Paris Priest.
