The Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology (GCECT) was established in the year 1941and is funded by Government .It was formerly called as College of Ceramic Technology (CCT). 

  • It is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology

  • Information Technology and Ceramic Technology are accredited by NBA.
  • It is IBM Software Center of Excellence
  • Admissions are on the basis of WBJEE

Placements: College has seen 100% placement for last year students. Students are recruited by various famous companies like Essar Steel, Steel Authority of India, MECON, Jindal South West Steel, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc. In year 2011 Student from ceramic technology got highest package of Rs.6.98 lakh/annum and IT/CSE student got Rs. 4.5 lakh/annum.

Facilities:

Library: Library collectively has 17000+ reference and textbooks. Also has internet, CDs and Book Bank Facilities.

Conference Rooms: Institute has spacious conference room ideal for seminars, Workshops and other programmes.

Computer Centre: Computers are connected to the internet for 24 hours via NKN Leased Line (100 mbps) connectivity which is accessible from all computers in college.
