About College
Behala College was established in 1963 as a grants-in-aid state government. The college is affiliated to university of calcutta. The College came under the pay packet scheme of the Government of West Bengal in the late seventies. The college is situated has a area of 1.93 acres and is located in an urban setting within kolkata, the college has many locational advantages, being in a quiet area at one end of the city and at the same time very much part of an academically rich, as well as industrially and commercially vibrant centre of India .
- It was recognized under section 2f by UGC in 1982
- The mission of the college is to provide higher education to the poorer people of the society
- The college started its journey with only 7 departments in the art faculty offering pass courses
