Government College of Engineering and Technology - [GCET] is amongst the top ten colleges for engineering education in Jammu. It was founded in 1994 and has affiliations with AICTE Delhi and Jammu University. The inauguration of this institute was done by one of the most prestigious personalities, General K.V Krishna Rao, the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir in 1994. The organizational hierarchy runs in this particular manner: the highest presiding member in the college is the Principal under him are the HOD’s, Accounts Officer, Registrar and Security Officer. Under the HOD’s are the Assistant Professors, Lab Staff and Lecturers, under the Registrar are Assistant Registrar, Secretary and Under Secretary and under the Accounts Officer is the Accountants and AAO.
