About College
The Govt. College of Engineering Kannur was established in 1986 as a centre for imparting quality engineering education in northern Kerala. It is affiliated to Kannur University. The college is functioning in a large 75-acre unified academic complex, having sound and self-sufficient infrastructure. It is recognized by AICTE.

- Esperanza 2K11: It is a national level techno cultural fest to be held in GCEK organized by the department of computer science
- Confluence: An inter college national level technical festival is organized by the electronics and communication association every two years in which various events

Scholarships
- National Scholarship Scheme: The award will be limited to scholars ,the income of whose parents does not exceed Rs.25,000 /- per year
- Government of India Post Metric Scholarships: This is a Government of India Scholarship available on the basis of economic criterion of students
- Government of Kerala National Loan Scholarship Scheme: This is available on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examinations
- Interest free repayable loan scholarship by Government of Kerala: The Government of Kerala gives this Scholarship to students of engineering institutions on merit-cum-means basis
