About College
Katwa College was started as an intermediary in Surya Narayan memorial hall of K D Institution with approx 140-150 students. The college was affiliated to Calcutta University established on 16th June 1960. Besides the accomplishment of the sanction status, the college has been untiringly and sincerely carrying on its mission and maintaining a steady step of progress in axiom of advancement of learning. The college by this time has increased its faculty strength to 58 full-time teachers and 30 part-time teachers. From its beginning, the college was engaged in the task of catering access to higher education to the students of rural areas who did not have the benefit of their urban city match. The aim and objective of the college is to enlighten the future of the nation.
