Veltech University was established in the year 1990 by known Industrialist Dr.R.Rangarajan and Dr.R. Sakunthala Rangarajan. It was formally established as Veltech Rangarajan Dr.Sakunthla R&D Institute of Science and Technology. It is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
