Ashoka University was established under the Haryana Private Universities Act of 2006 in the National Capital Region. The university is formed under the aegis of Rajiv Gandhi Education City. Its aim is to promote interdisciplinary education and advanced research in the humanities, social sciences, and the natural and applied sciences. The university has four Academic Schools that offers Bachelor, Master and Diploma courses namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Economics, School of Social Sciences and School of Natural & Applied Sciences. It also has 2 academic centre to train and develop the skills of students namely, Centre for Entrepreneurship & Leadership and Centre for Writing & Communication
