Patil Institute of Technology & Research, Akluj was established in 2011 by Sahakar Maharashi Shankarrao Mohite Trust. This trust/society has been registered under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 in the office of assistant charity commissioner, Solapur. The institute is affiliated to Solapur University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.
The institute has the highly qualified, competent, experienced and dedicated staff. The college is established to meet the desired need of the people of the region.
The institute intends to provide the high level technical personnel who would shoulder the responsibility of being creative leaders in technology at the national as well as international level. The vision of the college is to develop the knowledgeable and cultured community academic and extracurricular activities with a focus on character development from the rural society.

As the basic policy of the institute is student-centered, the focus is on the overall development of the students. It is observed that most of the students learning in the institute are from rural background and they require the proper guidancewhile learning. To accomplish this need ; talented, enthusiastic and skilled faculty members from IIT, NIIT and other reputed institutes have been recruited.All the faculty members strive to involve the students in the learning process by motivating them.
The proper weightage is given to the theoretical as well as practical training of the students. Regular tests and their evaluation are conducted to check the growth of the students.They are guided accordingly. Extra and centralized attention is given to the weak students to bring them up to the level of the bright students. Regular industrial visits to the associated industries are organized for the industrial and professional experience. We motivate our staff and students to attend various workshops, seminars, conferences etc. for updated knowledge.

What is the admission eligibility for B.Tech ?
Minimum eligibility - The candidate must have passed (10+2) Examination with at least 45% marks (40% for backward class from Maharashtra), on an average, in Physics + Chemistry + Math, English should be one of the remaining subjects. The candidate must have appeared for MH-CET or IEEE.
