National Institute of Unani Medicine (NIUM) is located at Bangalore and is as an autonomous organization under the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India working since 2004. This Institute is being developed as a model of post graduate, teaching, training and research in Unani System of Medicine. The vision of the institute is to strengthen and promote excellence in education, research and patient care in Unani medicine. The institute was set up with the mission of imparting quality education of Unani medicine, to carry out research in Unani medicine and to provide efficacious, safe and cost effective healthcare solutions through creative applications of Unani medicine. The Objectives of the institute emphasize on promoting growth and development of Unani Medicine and providing training in teaching and research at P.G. level. The institute offers graduate and post graduate level degree courses to the students.
