Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Bhagalpur, Bihar, was instituted in the year 1970 by the Department of Health and Medical Education. It is one among the prominent, well-established Medical Colleges in India. Many proficient General Physicians and specialists have emerged out of this institution which is one of the best medical colleges in the eastern region of India. This institution has been started to offer a standard atmosphere thereby creating a super specialty Centre to the future doctors. Its objective is to develop a good teaching – learning culture in the field of medicine and also to bring in facilities of higher standards to inculcate high command training for all pupils in all branches of medicine.

Infrastructure: The 209 Acre campus is split into two fragments. One, the College and the other is the Hospital. It has huge buildings wide-spread in more than a lakh Sq.m... The hospital attached to the campus helps the intern students to learn the subjects (patients) with more involvement and gain practical knowledge even before stepping out of the college.
Facilities: The College has all important facilities well inside the campus itself. It has three playgrounds to cater physical training to the medical students. There are nine hostels all together in which five has been segregated to boys and rest four to the girls who study here. It also has a central library and two lecture halls to facilitate the academic needs.
