Guntur Medical College was established in 1946 and is a pioneer medical institute in South India. The College works in conjunction with Government General Hospital, which is a tertiary care hospital having 1170 beds. The college was established with an aim of bringing world class medical facilities to the doorsteps of poor people living in the hinterlands. Our undertaking is to bring international standards of Medicare to rural poor at affordable and reasonable rates.
The college administration believes in facilitating top notch quality medical education so that graduates from our college come out as well-trained professional doctors with divine spirits of serving others, embedded in them. It is our responsibility and creditability to shape young minds as responsible, disciplined and efficient doctors. For making students learn practically, we have a modern air conditioned auditorium having the latest audiovisual equipment and seating capacity for 900. Also, a new super speciality complex with state of the art facilities is nearing completion in Government General Hospital, which will furthermore accelerate the growth process via effective learning.
