About College
Dayanand Medical College & Hospital is well-reputed college. The college is affiliated to the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, Punjab. The institution is duly recognized by Medical Council of India for the MBBS course as well as several speciality and super speciality courses
- Every year 70 students are enrolled in MBBS through the PMET
- The college offers MBBS, PG and Nursing courses in various field of Medical Science
- In 1938, the institution was recognized for LSMF (Licentiate of the Punjab State Medical Faculty). The following year, the Managing Body decided that the Ludhiana Medical School should thereafter be called “Arya Medical School” and the hospital attached to it “Dayanand Hospital”
- In 1964, Arya Medical School was came to known as 1964
- The college organizes events like Organ Donation Day, ORS Day, Breastfeeding Week Celebration etc.
- The college has modern facility and infrastructure for effective learning and training of the students
- DMCH was the first hospital in Punjab to set up a dialysis unit in the Nephrology service in 1980
- DMCH is accredited by Indian Nursing Council for nursing courses
- It is a 1326 bedded (Inclusive 800 teaching beds) tertiary care teaching hospital in North India
Health Care Center:
DMCH is the only institution in North India, which has an entire floor of Intensive Care Units (ICUs) with 100 beds incorporating all the critical care areas. Notable ICUs are:
