Hiralal Mazumdar Memorial College for Women was established in the year 1959, under the University of Calcutta located in Dakshineswar. The college is affiliated to the West Bengal State University, Accredited by NAAC. The college was established with the objective of imparting higher education to the girls. The College has completed its 50 years in the academic year 2008-09. The College offers for the higher studies in (17) honors subjects with (22) general subjects to about 2000 students. The college is also a study center for NSOU & offers with Distance Education in several courses under the Netaji Subhas Open University (NSOU) for the last 5 years.
