Government Medical College, Patiala was started back in 1953 under the state Pepsu (in Punjab now) of Presidential India. The college is the second oldest medical colleges in the state of present day Punjab and has more than six decades of impressive academics and training. Along with normal wards, many specialty cells are available to serious treatments.

Hospital attached for training and learning: Rajendra hospital is a well-equipped hostel offering best treatment to locals and people from other part of the country. Separate wards are available to treat deadly diseases and severe health conditions. Students are encouraged to work in the hospital as trainee as part of their curriculum to obtain broader knowledge.
Intensive training after U.G: After 5 and 1/2 years of M.B.B.S, undergrads are offered with 1 year of intensive training at the hospital of the college to obtain experience in real world. Most of the students are placed at the Rajendra hospital itself and some get better position in other public and private hospitals around the country.
Homelike college accommodation: The College allows students from long distance to stay in the campus. There are 4 hostels are U.G students and one for P.G students. Mess is attached for providing quality food to their future doctors and other medical professionals.
What is the admission eligibility for B.Sc ?
Admission eligibility is 10+2 or High School Senior Secondary exam by the CBSE or any equivalent exam conducted by any State Board or Equivalent. He or She should have secured a minimum 50% Aggregate. All SC, ST candidates have a relaxation of 5% in the minimum aggregate.
