Hem Chandra Dev Goswami College (HCDG), Sivasagar, Assam is one of the oldest colleges in Assam and imparts quality education covering undergraduate and post-graduate courses. The college works with the mission of upliftment of the backward regions of Assam and to promote the growth rate of education in the region. The college has objectives to achieve such as knowledge output for human development, sustainable development of human resources, innovative learning and teaching and inclusive growth.

1. Audio-visuals mode of Teaching- The College has incorporated modern technology based learning set-ups such as digital classrooms with audio-visual teaching equipments and e-boards for effective learning by the students.
2. Digital Library in place- The College offers a centralized digital library cum information Centre with a digitalized access to around 5,000 books and 150 international and national journals, CD-ROMS and other similar resources. The library also provides additional services such as book bank facility, Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), SDI Service, reprographic services and Current awareness services.
3. Present of Various Cells for student learning: The College supports the learning process through regular quality checks, career counseling sessions as well as student’s grievances. The various cells set up by the college in the same regard are Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Women cell, Students grievances cell, Counseling and career guidance cell, Sankardeva Study Centre, The Economic Forum and Financial Assistance cell.
