About College
School of excellence in law, Chennai is a department of Undergraduate studies directly under the control of the Tamil Nadu, Dr. Ambedkar Law University. The SOEL was established with a prime focus on Undergraduate education on par with the National Law Schools in the country. The college is trying to open up new avenues in professional practices for its students by joining hands with Corporate, IT mayo’s and MNC’s. Many of the last year students have been absorbed by various law firms and few are eve serving the high court judges. Although applications are invited from across the country but majority of the student body is from the state itself.

Why to Join School of Excellence in law?

Campus facility- The SOEL is present in the same campus as the University and thus all the facilities, e.g. library, canteen, etc, within the premises are available to the students of the college.

Scholarships for meritorious students– Many endowments are instituted by the college for meritorious students excelling in their particular course. Gold medals and scholarships worth 25,000/- are awarded to high scorers in each batch.

Student–industry interface Centre– In order to make students professionally competent and opening up more avenues in legal education, the university has opened up a student-industry interface center (SIIC).

Practical knowledge– The college runs internships for the students and provides practical experience via mock court and court visits.
