About College
Located in God’s own country, the Govt. Dental College, Kottayam commenced its journey in 2002. It is the third Government Dental College in the state and was formally inaugurated by Sri. A. K. Antony. Before that, central Kerala lacked specialised dental care centres, and students and patients had to depend on Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode Govt. Dental Colleges. Ever since the establishment of Medical College, Kottayam nearly 40 years back a Dental Department was attached to it. Later given its nature of work, the Dental Department was re-designated as Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1992.The College currently offers bachelor's and post-graduation courses in dental sciences. The college aspires to train excellent dentists and provide quality oral care at affordable costs.
