National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Chennai established in the year 1986.It is an institution of design, management and technology for the international fashion brand. The institute located in Chennai where it offers four-year bachelor and two-year master programmes in the field of Design, Management and Technology. NIFT has set academic standards and excelled in thought leadership by providing a pool of creative genius and technically competent professionals

• The college has an environment of education through innovation, creativity and excellence
• NIFT, Chennai has been ranked 5 according to India Today Survey 
• It was set up under the aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India
• NIFT has been granted statutory status under the act of Parliament of India in 2006, empowering the Institute to award degrees and other academic distinctions
• The institute has an aim of objective of assisting the apparel/fashion industry in meeting the industrial competitiveness on a global plane. Over the years NIFT has created a learning environment that encourages innovation, creativity and excellence

Resource Centre - NIFT  facilitate resource centre contain vital fashion information of the Institute and the Apparel Industry of the region. NIFT Resource center act as catalyst, both for the academicians and the practicing fashion professionals in the industry .

• The resource centre has  125 domestic and international  journals/magazines.
• It also subscribes to various online journals/ data base related to design , technology and management

Library- Library of the college is well equipped with books, journals, A-V materials, CD-ROMS etc. It subscribes to :
