About College
Agricultural College and Research Institute, Madurai, Tamil Nadu is recognized as the second biggest constituent college of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University. The college was upgraded in the year 1969 as the Post Graduate Centre and in 1980 as a Research Institute. The college offers under graduate, post graduate and Ph. D. courses to the students. The campus of the institute is situated at the foothills of the historical monument Yanamalai, a tiny rocky mountain. The serene ambiance at the campus makes learning pleasant. The college was adjudged as the best college of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University twice, once in the year 2002 and again in the year 2008. Founder dean, Dr. A Mariakulandai, was the architect of the college. His vision has played a great role in establishing and expanding the college.
