National Institute of Homoeopathy [NIH] is located in Kolkata and was established in 1975. The institute is an Autonomous Organisation under the Dept. of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The institute aims to promote the growth and development of Homoeopathy and to produce graduates and post graduates in Homoeopathy. NIH also emphasizes on conducting research on various aspects of Homoeopathy. It is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences. The Institute conducts the degree course in Homoeopathy and Post-Graduate course for Doctor of Medicine in Homoeopathy [M.D.(Hom.)] in six subjects viz Organon of Medicine, Repertory, Materia Medica, Practice of Medicine, Paediatrics and Homoeopathic Pharmacy.
