School of Architecture, Engineering and Technology, Periyar Maniammai University was established in 1988 by the Periyar Maniammai Educational and Charitable Society, Chennai.. The College was started with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and initially affiliated to Bharathidasan University and later to Anna University, Chennai from 2001. Since August 17, 2007 it has been functioning as Deemed to be University with the approval of the UGC and Ministry of Human Resources, New Delhi.

There are four hostels - three of them Annai Nagammaiyar, Vittobai and Swarna Renganathan hostel are for women and they can accommodate around 2000 women students and the Chakravarthi hostel for men can accommodate 600 students. |
What is the Eligibility Criteria for Admission in B.Arch program?
Admission in B.Arch program candidate must be passed 10+2, 50% with Mathematics. The candidates must have passed the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture, For B. Arch. Programme the you should also have passed the NATA exam with a score of 80 out of 200 in addition to passing the HSC with a minimum average percentage.
