Silicon Institute of Technology, a premier college of Sambalpur was established in 2009 and it is affiliated by Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Raurkela. The College is organizing under Samaleswari Education Trust. Silicon Institute of Technology (SIT) is located at Sason in Sambalpur. The college offers under graduate course B.tech and post graduate course M.tech. It is co-education institute. The College is approved by AICTE.

Library
The Library houses more than 12,000 volumes of books. Library books are classified and arranged branch wise according to DDC in various book shelves. Library also facilitates its clientele to know about the new arrivals of books, Journals, and Magazines.
Hostels
- Boys Hostel: The College has a boy’s hostel. 159 students have been accommodated in this hostel
- Girls Hostel: The College has a girl’s hostel. 60 students have been accommodated in this hostel
Tech Fest
The College is organizing annual tech fest at the Bhubaneswar campus by inviting different colleges and universities. The main objective of this event is to create a competitive surrounding among the participant and find out the hidden talent in different technical activities.
