About College
With the establishment in 1926, Andhra University became one of the premier universities for getting higher education in India. Initially, it was started with only few departments such as department of Engineering with Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering as the main streams.
- The Department of Engineering in 1960, was shifted to its present location i.e. North campus
- AU College of Engineering came into existence in 1946
- The College is NAAC Accredited & awarded a rating of A+ (85%)
- The college is one of the four Lead Institutions selected in the state of Andhra Pradesh for World Bank Aid
- Campus is spread over 167 acres (0.61 km2) of land
- In 1966, it became a part of the Andhra University
- Presently, it is offering 17 undergraduate engineering full time programs, 4 part time programs, 42 postgraduate programs, 3 M.Sc. programs and 1 MCA program
- Equal emphasis on research work. Till now, 57 R&D & consultancy projects have been undertaken
- The students of the college have 100% placement for several years including 2013 – 2014
