About College
IIT-Jodhpur is among one the eight IIT’s which were established during the year 2008 by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India.
- The 1st academic session of IIT Jodhpur was initiated at the IIT Kanpur, with 109 under-graduate students in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering & Electrical Engineering
- Presently, IIT-Jodhpur is functioning from its temporary campus MBM Engineering college & after some time, will shift to its new sprawling 852 acres campus
- IIT Rajasthan is offering 4- years B. Tech degree in three separate branches & intakes 40 students in each branch.
- Additionally, M.Tech & Ph.D. programs are also offered
- Honorable President of India was the Chief Guest at First Convocation held on 10 July 2013
- Honorable Minister of HRD Sri M. Pallam Raju lays the foundation stone in 2013 at Permanent Campus
Research & Development Programs
The French government has shown an interest in helping IIT Jodhpur to develop its research work. So, it is forging alliances with French universities for an internship in France & participation in joint research programs.

Admissions to B.Tech. Programs are made once a year (in July) through the all-India level Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) conducted by IITs. The procedures and other requirements for admission are specified in the JEE Information Brochure brought out every year.
