Mohammed Sathak Engineering College (MSEC), Kilakarai was established in 1984 under Mohammed Sathak Trust of Chennai. It is affiliated to Anna University, Coimbatore. It is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and recognised by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified Institute. It has the twin distinction of being the first self-financed and muslim minority engineering college in Tamil Nadu.
