The Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) at Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India, is a division establishment of Council of Scientific and Industrial Study, India continues to be vested with the duty of producing, raising and promoting constructing science and technology in the support of the world.
The Institute keeps interactions with national and international specifications set up groups similar to CIB in the Netherlands; TWAS in Italy; BRE in the United Kingdom; ASTM in the USA; CSIRO in Australia; RILEM in France; BRS in Canada and also UNCHS in Nairobi, Kenya.
At the nationwide level of India , the Institute has got close communication with BMTPC, HUDCO, DST, Ministry of Urban Development, Ministry of Rural Areas, Housing Boards and Societies of the State Governments, engineering and educational institutions, construction and developing material sectors.
To perform R&D on all facets of constructing and property and assist the building market in clearing up problems of arranging, making design, foundations, elements and development including disaster mitigation in most kinds of structures with the intention to achieve overall economy, comfort, practical efficiency, rate, productivity in development, environment upkeep and power conservation.
