About College
Devi Charan Barua Girls College, the first women’s college of upper Assam in Jorhat, India was established in 1955. It is a premier college of Assam. The aim of the college is to provide higher education to the women folk of Jorhat and its rural neighborhood by inculcating their innate talents and qualities and unfolding their potentialities through curricular and extra-curricular activities. It is affiliated to Dibrujarh University. The College has been accreditation by NAAC with B Grade.

Extracurricular Activities
- National Cadet Corps: DCB Girls’ College NCC is affiliated to the 64 Assam Girls’ Battalion. About 130 cadets are enrolled in the army wing which offers training to students in personality development

- Lakshmi Priya Memorial Scholarships is awarded to the student who obtains Highest Mark in examination
- Padma Baruah Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the student who secures the highest marks in the College Promotion Examinations
- Late Dhanada Devi Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the meritorious student of TDC 2nd Year securing highest marks in Chemistry (Major)
- Late Puspanath Goswami Memorial Scholarship is awarded to the meritorious student of TDC Part I securing highest marks in History (Major)
