Kumaun University is a state university established under the Uttarakhand State Act. University serves the need for education for socially and economically weak regions. University has its 3 campuses Nainital, Almora, and Bhimtal. University has 35 govt. colleges affiliate with it and equal numbers of private colleges are also affiliated with it. University offers research and teaching in 23 PG and 4 UG departments.

Facilities:
Himalayan Museum: It was established in 1987 under the aegis of the Department of History, Kumaun University Nainital. From the time of inception, it is actively involved in tasks of collection, compilation recording, and documentation. Museum has conducted many exhibitions in various places. Museum has various antique and valuable things like coins, agricultural implements, household articles, Masks, Manuscripts, and weapons.

Yes Kumaun University are Recognized by UGC. Previously the placement and job opportunities were not good but now it is changing, we are sent to many pool placements and in January many companies are going to come in our campus for placement and around 20% of our batch is placed in just dial.

Apply for BBA Program in Kumaun University candidate should have cleared 10 & 12 higher secondary Examination with English as one of the subjects. Minimum percentage of marks in class 12th higher secondary Examination varies from institution to institution but is generally between 50% or 60%. Students who have appeared in H.S.C. examination and are awaiting results are eligible too.
