About College

Purvanchal University, in Jaunpur was later named Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University in the tribute of Mr. V.B. Singh, previous Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.  

• The University was established on second of October in the year 1987 as an affiliating school under U.P. state university act 1973
• Consistent qualitative and quantitative development, brilliance in scholarly and regulatory exercises has been a common trait of the University. Along with these, transparent and proficient scholastic organization has been a percentage of the unique qualities on the support of which the school developed as one of the heading colleges of the nation
• The University began with the 68 subsidiary colleges. The University now has broadened its range of exercises with 367 partnered graduate and graduate schools and post-graduate selection of about 3,80,000 in 5 Districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh
• The school is spotted at 10 km from the memorable city of Jaunpur on Jaunpur-Shahganj way which partitions its 171.5 sections of land grounds into two
• The start of two year full-time private MBA course in the year 1990 was one of the first steps towards making change in the character of the school from affiliating to affiliating cum-private College

Library

• The present Library stock comprises 95,000 books, 350 professional Indian and foreign journals and magazines, 2500 back volumes of journals, 6000 Ph.D. theses, 800 CD, Newspapers, Govt. publications, press clippings etc.
• It has also a e-library containing 20 computers with 1 GBPS BSNL leased line Internet connectivity to access 4000 e-resources including e-journals, e-books, e-databases, e-contents, e-theses providing by the INFLIBNET Centre, Ahmadabad with uncountable Open Access e-resources
• Library has also an EDUSAT system in audio-visual section to attend the virtual teaching programmes telecast by UGC, AICTE, and IGNOU etc.

Auditorium
The University has an auditorium a capacity of 1000 provides the students a platform to unmask their hidden talents. The Auditorium is a centralized structure in the University that holds various ceremonies, occasions, programs and seminars

Stadium

A large open stadium of ground and sitting capacity of 5000 has been witnessing several sports finale of zonal, state and national level. The lush green ground has a well worked out track of meters. The lounge of the stadium includes rooms in first and second floor and other basic facilities useful for conducting sports, NSS, Rovers and Rangers programmes.
