Fees for 2013-2017 batch was 1L tuition fees and hostel extra and loan facilities are easily available. No scholarships are provided though.

Entrance test is simpler than other competitive entrance exams. Exam is given by a huge mass of people. Admission in vit can be obtained by two ways : Management counseling ( with extra fee and fee based on rank in viteee and the branch you want. It is on a first come first serve basis) and Merit counselling ( for students upto 20000 rank but good branches like cse mechanical get over under 10000 rank) . The Admission intake of students is humongous and this ever increasing huge strength of students affects life on campus.

You have to do a compulsary one month internship at any firm. The college dosent help in getting that one month internship . The placement cell is the main pillar of vit and reason behind name of vit. The placement cell is very good but people in mech civil and other non trivial branches like biotech don't expect a placement . Scenario is somewhat similar in other colleges too because markets of mechanical industries are not growing. Be ready to study Ms/Mba if you want a job. If you are a very skilled computer guy, then there is no better place than vit placement cell. All companies from Amazon flipkart shop clues to microsoft cisco intel Qualcomm and mostly every name you can think of come for placement . But is you are an average person in programming you will only get in mass companies like cognizant Accenture TCS and average paying companies like black rock Amadeus . But in the probability of you getting a job is 90%
Fees & Scholarships
There is no loan facility . Scholarship is provided to state board toppers and few under privileged students. The fees has been increased significantly from 2013. Be ready to pay a total of around 3 lacks /year for academic hostel and mess fee.
Academics & Faculty
The curriculum is outdated . In case branch they have tried to improve it and introduced new imp courses like python . The labs are very good for people in ece and eee . The mechanical and civil labs are outdated. Classes are regular there is no such thing like mass bunk in vit. Management is strict . Vit has introduced biometric attendance from 2017 onwards. So there aree no proxies. If your attendance is below 75% you will be debarred from examination whether it is a cat or term end , the management is ruthless when it comes to attendance defaulters.

Admission procedure is very cunning as VIT invites students very early for counselling. This forces students to make a snap decision. This policy is unfair and should be regulated by UGC

Placements are a reality only for CSE and IT students. For mech and civil, forget core company placements. Mass recruiters do offer packages up to 2-2.5 LPA, but joining letters often take up to 10-12 months to arrive. Do not buy into VIT's '100% placement' slogan. It is a hoax.
Fees & Scholarships
For students taking admission through merit, fee including hostel is around 8 lakhs for four years. For management quota students, fees can be anywhere around 10-24 lakhs depending on performance in VITEEE. VIT doesn't do anything to help students get education loans. They have to arrange it themselves
Academics & Faculty
Very biased and rude faculty. North Indians are treated like second-class citizens. Most faculties encourage rote-learning as they themselves aren't well versed in whatever they are teaching. Students are encouraged to memorize standard textbooks to pass exams. Apart from faculties, literally every week in VIT is littered with quizzes, vivas, lab-exams and mock tests. Students have no time to pursue other interests.
College Infrastructure
Only good aspect of VIT. High-end labs equipped with state of the art instruments are made available to students. The only problem is that no one is qualified enough to operate or work in any of these labs. Wifi is extremely slow and works on a monthly quota of 3 GB per month. Sports complex is available, but students have to pay extra fee to avail theses services
Food Services & Hostel
The food across all messes in VIT are disgusting. You can sometimes find rat tails or live cockroaches on the plate. Most of my money was spent on eating outside due to the abhorrent standard of food in the mess. In hostels, 4-6 students are crammed into small rooms to accommodate the growing intake of students every year.
