About College
Madurai Kamaraj University is the oldest public university in the country that was founded in 1966. It is owned and funded by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the UGC. Currently, it has 77 departments and 20 schools with 21 academic centers and 21 quasi-academic supportive units. Former president of India, Dr. Zakir Hussain laid the foundation stone of the university campus
The campus of the university is spread over an area of 750 acres of Palkalai Nagar, Madurai. Madurai University currently offers 41 postgraduate, 35 M. Phil and 17 Diploma, Pg Diplom, and certificate courses in various departments.
Research
The university provides excellent research facility for its students. It awards Doctoral Degrees to its research scholars. The research programs of the university are funded by UGC, CSIR, DBT, DST ICSSR, MHRD etc.
Academic Centers and Information Centers
The university has its own Academic Centers and Information Centers. These centers are located in Madurai, Chennai, Trichy, Theni, Ramnad, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil. The university has also established Study Centers in all other states of the nation. The students and aspirants can get the University Bulletin for free of cost from the Director, Directorate of Distance Education.

Madurai Kamaraj University are offer scholarship for good knowledge and also in poor family. All the faculty are good knowledge and experience. The problem is it is university so the staff might be change regularly and we had new staffs. Also provided Internship for students. Our University offer Placement assistance and good placement record.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for Admission.

Admission in Engineering programs candidate should have passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary Examination)/Intermediate Examination or its equivalent with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects. Candidate should not be more than 21 years of age as on July. Although there are some exemptions for this rule: relaxation of 3 years is given to female candidates and SC/ST/BC/MBC/DNC candidates beyond 21 years of age for the admission. And relaxation of 5 years is given to the physically handicapped candidates. Candidates will be selected for admission on the basis of 10+2 examination marks and the list of the selected candidates will be uploaded on the official website of the MK University.
