About College
Hindustan University is a privately owned engineering university that was founded by K. C. G. Verghese as Hindustan College of Engineering in 1985. Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 from the academic year 2008-09, HIT was granted by the University status by UGC, Government of India. It is also accredited by NBA for Aeronautical Engineering programs. It is also recognized by ACU, IET, SAE, Council of Architecture, IAO, Royal Aeronautical Society, AIMA, IEEE, Association of Indian Universities, and ISA.
The campus of the college is located in Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Padur, Kelambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is one of the premier institutes of South India that has collaborated with many leading universities in USA, Singapore, Australia, etc.
