About College

Chennai Mathematical Institute is situated in the famous SPIC IT Park and is a premiere educational institution in the country. Being based in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu it is a popular place for study in mathematical sciences for students from all over the country.

• Chennai Mathematical Institute came into existence first in 1989
• It was only in the year 1996 that this became an autonomous institution
• Governance of affairs at the university are carried out by a council comprising of some really eminent faculty members
• Students who are admitted into the university are those who are admitted after first having gone through a very stringent examination that tests their potential in a number of different abilities and mental aptitude

Scholarships:

• All students receive handsome scholarships that meet all expenses. B.Sc. (Hons.) students receive a scholarship of Rs. 4000 per month
• M.Sc. students receive a scholarship of Rs. 6000 per month and Ph.D. scholarships start at Rs. 16000 per month
• Students of B.Sc. (Hons.) also receive an additional monthly scholarship of Rs. 1000, made possible through generous private donations
