Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), a public university, was established by an Act of Parliament (Act No.25 of 2009). The inspiration stone was set by Shri. Kapil Sibal, Honorable Union Minister of Human Resources Development, among the presence of Dr. Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, then Chief Minister of province. The University strives to disseminate and to advance knowledge in humanities, social sciences and, basic and applied sciences.

Faculties are very friendly with the students and very experience. Campus life is awesome. Gender ratio is very high. Mostly students belonged to kerala and Tamil Nadu.we have 4-5 clubs and association like science club, flim club , hindi club , cultural club and sports club. Scholarship available for SC/ST candidates only those belong Tamil Nadu.No loan facility & The hotel accommodations are 4 stars with reasonably good infrastructure compared to other colleges. The design and infrastructure are on par with western standards. 750 students are accommodated in four hostels, including married and non married research.
What is the minimum eligibility for taking admission?
Candidate should have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent of any recognized board in India with 60% marks (Biology, Physics, Chemistry with or without Mathematics, Computer Science). For OBC and SC & ST candidates, minimum required aggregate is 55% and 50% respectively & The candidates should not have completed 20 years of age as on 1st of July of the concerned admission year. Admission to all the above mentioned programmes of the Central University of Tamil Nadu is done on the basis of score obtained by the candidate in the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET).
