About College

Avinashilingam University is one of the few universities in India that is dedicated entirely to the education of women. It was established in the year 1988 under Section 3 of the UGC Act in June 1988 as an extension of the Avinashilingam Home Science College for women was established by none other than Dr. T. Avinashilingam along with 45 of his students in the year 1957.

Hostel

The University provides hostel facilities for women. The hostel rooms are well furnished and provide vegetarian meal services to inmates. There is a mess at the hostel where students have to consume their meals

Computer Centre
  • It runs a computer center that students and teachers can visit in the event that they have to access the internet or do any other kind of work in the computer. The latest devices are made available for use and both printing and faxing services are carried out here
  • The university campus is also equipped with wireless internet facilities and students who bring their own devices to the campus can browse the internet here for free

  • Government of India Adi-Dravida Welfare Residential and Non-Residential Scholarships to students, provided their parent’s income is less than Rs.1,00,000/- per annum. Backward Class Scholarships to students whose parents' income is below Rs.50,000/- per annum.

      Avinashilingam University for Women are good placement cell & placement was good. I was placed in this college. Almost all big software companies and other institutions were there. Hostel of this University is good, safe, secure for the girls. Also Food is nice. Faculties were well experienced, responsible and intelligent personalities. They were very thorough about the subject handled. Also our University Offer internship and Scholarship is available for Students.

      The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering or Technology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from any University approved by UGC. The percentage secured in the qualifying degree examination will be considered only for assessing the eligibility. Admission based on Entrance test score has been taken from any All India level admission test such as CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA/ TANCET(Anna University).
