I don't know if they have made changes or not but at my time there was no entrance exam. I got in through my 10 & 12th percentage. The only thing that was a hassle was that I had to go to the nearest NIIT Centre for giving a video interview. Admission procedure was simple once you go to the University.
Read Full ReviewPlacements at NIIT University is not at all good. Our senior most batch was placed at good organisations but after that, the placement rate just kept decreasing. Most of our batch found jobs by themselves instead of relying on the college. Our batch was of 180 (approx) students. And only I think approx. 30 students got placed from college. Rest others have got jobs themselves because of their own hard work and talents, for which the college plays no role. They show 99.8% placements, but in reality, it's just 16.66 %. They try to bring companies but at the end, nothing happens. The salaries were not the product of our college but the student themselves who got jobs on their own. Highest was 12 lakh for one student who got placed in Amazon but because of his own talent. Lowest- No idea, maybe 0. Average 3 lakhs PA. Companies which visited were Cognizant, PWC and Amazon. These are the only famous ones. There were other 5-6 companies which I had never heard of before they were introduced to us. From the college, I think 10-15 students got internships i.e. less than 10%. The rest, including me, got internships on their own from various online portals. Again the stipend was nowhere related to the administration but the students got it themselves. Highest was 15k per month, the average would be 8k per month and the lowest was 0, as many students did unpaid internships.
Fees at NIIT University is expensive without scholarships. There are 4 types of scholarships 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%. These are on first come first serve basis on basis of your 10th & 12th marks OR IIT Score etc. You'll have to talk with them for further details. At my time the fees without scholarship was approx 2 lakhs (tution fee) + 1 lakh (hostel fee), so approx 3 lakhs per year, *{may be changed now}. Mess fee was approx 16000 per year. There were students who completed all 4 years without giving a penny. So if you have good marks in 10th & 12th you can save around 12 lakhs of college fee in 4 year given you score 7.5 SGPA each semester otherwise your scholarship will get lapse.
Except for 4 or 5 faculty members, the rest were not at all good at teaching. They were all qualified as far as we know. They had PhDs, masters and bachelors but couldn't teach the students. Well, the so-called "toppers" had no issues. But I and many other average students really tried to learn but never understood what they were trying to teach. The faculty was knowledgeable, no doubt, but what's the use of that knowledge if you can't pass it to your students. Right? Several teaching methods were used like online classes, guest lectures but the most used method was a classroom with projectors and PPTs. There were 6 courses in each semester, and in CSE, there were 4 batches of 30 students each. Each course had 1 instructor and sometimes one lab instructor. So 1 teacher for 30 students I will say. As our last semester was industry practice, in which each student had to do an internship for 6 months in an organisation and the grades were decided on the basis of performance, presentations, video talks given to your respective assigned mentor. The course curriculum was good but they didn't teach us the way it was supposed to. Like data structures, OOPs, artificial intelligence, machine learning these, all were great subjects but none of them was taught correctly.
The only thing good about NIIT University is the infrastructure. The university is beautifully surrounded by the Aravallis. The university campus has its own nature and every hostel room has its own beautiful view visible from their windows. The campus is a walking campus, we loved to hang out with friends and as soon as classes were over we all went on a walk irrespective of the time. The Wi-Fi was amazing, I don't think you'll get such a speedy Wi-Fi with a range of almost anywhere on the campus in any other college. IT labs were good, all systems had the required specifications. The library was the place where students went to try their luck 1 day before exams. Medical facilities are below average, there was a medical room but it only had the usual paracetamol and headache tablets. If anything serious was to happen, you'll have to rush to the nearest hospital which was a 500 buck ride back and forth. The hospital too was not good, at the end we had to take a leave and visit our hometown to get better. Usual sports were present except swimming. All sports court were average. Classrooms were good, fully ventilated and had EATs (Earth Air tunnel) which was an environmentally friendly air conditioner.
Same goes for the hostel and rooms, the hostel is very big and the rooms are spacious and had everything a student will need (bed, chair, almirah, book shelf, stuff shelf, table, chair, night bulb, fan, tube light). The quality of food is below-below average. If you want to get thin and malnourished, this is the university for you. Go for it. 4 years stay in the college came with many issues in the hostel and classrooms. Sometimes washrooms were not cleaned up to a month which made them really dirty as washrooms were not common for any student. Anybody could use it. Sometimes, our classrooms were held together with the entire batch but the EATs won't work which made the class very suffocated.

Eligiblity : ------------- Marks>=60% in class 10 . Marks>=60% in class 12 .(>=60% marks in PCM if applying for CS or ECE). Admission: --------------- Any engineering entrance test , like state engineering , jee or BITSAT, or SAT is needed . In absence of these exams candidate is required to give NUET(NIIT University Engineering Test) . *Next step is PCI(Personal Counselling Interaction) :In this student is tested for Communication , personality , thinking capabilities. It can be face to face or through skype . Mine was a skype one. Getting admission is very easy in this university .
Read Full Review*Average package can't be confirmed cause not all students have been placed , although the university claims of 100% placement. *There were few good companies that visited the college like Amazon , Pwc . Other than that major companies were consultancy like CTS , Tech Mahindra . A major portion of student were not placed during placement seasons. Although they are now providing us support by off campus placements . *Last semester was IP(Industry practice) in which students have to go for 6 month internship. The internship can be paid and unpaid depending upon situation . The thing I didn't like about this is I was given a non-technical internship although I have good technical skills. I was given internship at a call center . Why would a computer science student be given this kind of internship.
*Fees start from 3.4 lpa to keeps on increasing year per year and goes to around 4.3 lpa. University provides scholarship based upon performance in entrance exams or class 10 or class 12th board . But beware , it is a trap . Around 75% of students lose their scholarship during their first year only . Although they have changed their rules now . *Fee can be submitted through DD , Cash or neft . * I don't think any such facility is provided . For more details visit Link:https://www.niituniversity.in/admissions/b-tech/fee-and-scholarship
*University lacks in faculty .There is critical shortage of teachers here. When I was there a single teacher was taking 3 different subjects. *Classes are regular but waste of time as professors are not much capable. *Syllabus is same old . *Lacks in both aspects . Labs are not that good . Even the same was made noticeable in UGC report.
*High speed internet is available in hostels and academic building and at some portion of university. *Gym is available and free of cost .Tennis court is there . Cricket and football can be also played . Basketball court is also available . *Library is not that big . Doesn't contain major and latest books. *Labs are not well equipped . Lacks required software . *Lab assistant are also not that good . They even have no +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
*Food is overly prices here . They charge around 4200 per month for mess food . Food quality used to be good . But now it is bad and not tasty . *Food is vegetarian although eggs are served . *Boys hostel is very good . Big and spacious .Although the hostels for postgraduate student and girl student is bit different .They can't open windows and sometimes it is so suffocating there . *Cleanliness is good . Rooms are cleaned on daily basis.
