Entrance Exam & Admissions
Absolutely mass acquiring of candidates. I had a 10k rank however, there were few of my classmates who had 50-60k ranks. To fill their seats they go to any possible end. They will flood your ears and wash your mind with lies after lies. (Not even exaggerating) With pictures of microsoft CEO and some other famous guy who passed out of manipal, they will claim of great faculty and facilities, which they bought using huge amount of money and funding since it is a very successful business organization but the point is quality and credibility cannot be bought, and it clearly lacks in that area.

There were a few batch mates who were placed, but like the mass acquiring of candidates there were mass jobless pass out students, with degrees of almost null importance(like me). Another 100,000 students are walking around jobless with the same degree in the country. At the beginning of placement session we were promised of 48 odd companies who have "shown interest". But just that. Out of that only 2 showed up and none of the students were placed in any of those. Most of them have found their ways on their own. (further studies, internships, struggle, etc) Also they keep sending mails to get information in case we managed to land ourselves a job, so that they can take that company's logo and print it on a banner along with other non existing partner companies tow off during admissions. Just one thing, none of the people who come for admission ever go into the details of those promises being legit. Can clearly be a case of false marketing and misguidance. Same if we cleared a exam or going for masters. Everything will be marketed. With zero or at times negative contribution.
Fees & Scholarships
I would have gone abroad and studied a course I loved even more and paid almost the same amount or less rather than going through this and wasting my precious lifetime years. Practically my B.E. costed around 22-24Lacs. All fees and expenses included. Scholarships? I never heard of a single student with a scholarship in my time there. Trust me there is a very strong plan to recover the amount spent on building and marketing the campus, and further running on to profits. Going further, I have seen higher managements (Director, Vice chancellor) being fired because they tried doing better for students and spent too much for that. Being really honest here, the dark side is always there and its never beautiful.
Academics & Faculty
Handicapped faculty, wants to teach better but engineering is a very dynamic course if we go that way. But they are bound to teach a boring curriculum with their hands tied behind their backs. Have also seen each and every good and promising faculty leave within a month or two being tired/unhappy/frustrated with the management. Only the ones who adjust for wage or the ones who were undeserving and will protect their job with their lives lasted there. Practical knowledge is there but will be obsolete since it is nowhere near the industry requirements. Even the faculty is of the same category. How can they train students for a demanding industry if they themselves were never fit for one? Faculty tries to support, but they all are puppets. In the whole university there is not even a single faculty who can take a stand of their own. It basically has the worse of both government and corporate environments. Forget harmonious and knowledge gaining types. The only students who live up to the university expectations are duds(Does nothing, talks to no one, just attends classes and browse the internet after college)(Exaggerated). There were 4 times when the responsibilities of HoD of my department was passed to different person. To my shock and later belief I always found the most puppet and spineless person be the one with those responsibilities or as the "HoD"(Reality)
College Infrastructure
Everything is there. You call it, you have it. For that matter I can have my room turned into a super computer by getting a funding from someone. Will that change the world? That still might do. But those facilities will not bring anything apart from more money from fooled parents and candidates.
Food Services & Hostel
All good. Decent food, although we stayed hungry most of the days or ate out. Because rotis are machine made. In fact rotis are so SCIENTIFICALLY prepared you will never be able to have more than 3 or pushing your nauseous levels 4 at max that too when you are dying of hunger. We usually went in crazy hungry and came out feeling bad for ourselves.(Not exaggerating) Everything is casual and just crawling through months and days. Hygiene is also maintained. Rooms are also furnished 5-star rated. (Costing you a fortune though). However, the food at times turn into awesomeness whenever there are outsiders such as parents or guests on big occasions, or even if the bank trainees who are outsourced to the university for their training, and each batch that lasts for 21 days with around 50 trainees, the bank pays around 3 crores! While we are given disrespect they are on the other side of the mess served with multiple desserts, you can calculate the rest. We felt hurt because they were too blunt with us(the discrepancy I mean). I would not be treating someone this way who is paying me for something be it anything. That is quite basic and I learnt it on my own. The university clearly does not care for anything except the money. This is was a common feeling among the students living there. "We paid for this and now only we are treated like shit and slaves, *add numerous disappointed lines*". It is a trap, do not even think of wasting anything god has so graciously gifted you, be it energy, time or for the least that matter, money.

manipal univ. written exam, counselling calls at one of the centers,as per your ranking for selecting univ( manipal(karnataka), jaipur, sikkim) and branch according to rank obtained in univ. test. the seat selection procedure is online and transparent. you can visit any center any fill for any as per your wish. min 70% in pcm individually (may very for univ centers). only manipal online test is sufficient cutoffs vary from center to center. for same branch its may be under 6000 in manipal , whereas may go upto 16000 for jaipur and sikkim centers

avg salary- 3-5 varies as per branch and centers separate classes,sessions for practice before placements MNC'S , starups, mass recuiters, feild oriented mostly are unpaid regular events, courses, workshops regarding trending technology, software used in industries

scholrships- those who aced (rank-1) in their respective branch fees can be submitted online or in cash or cheque or dd no loan facility
Academics & Faculty
min qualification of faculty- m-tech from reputed universities and some experience in industry or education field. classes are held regularly, teachers are bound to finish course on time, regular feedback system of teachers is also there. syllabus is designed and upgraded regularly as per trending technology and industry requirements. well developed labs and projectors are installed in class to maintain balance between practical and theoretical knowledge
College Infrastructure
best infrastructure ,fully covered wifi campus , with wast area that is still expanding, best sports facility - sperate ground for cricket, football, volleyball, lawn tennis, basketball, badminton, squash, table tennis inside the campus , plus gym and swimming pool facility inside the hostel. spacious library and labs are available
Food Services & Hostel
best quality of food provided, with a separate committee that regularly takes feedback and alter the menu as per requirements. both veg and non veg is provided, tlthough nonveg are on specific days. mostly noth indian food. best hostel, recentely won the award for best hostels in asia. seprate wifi facility with ac/heater in each room, hot and cold water facily as per season, private study tabel and cupbord too. regular cleaness is maintained and room are cleaned every 3rd day.
