The National Institute of technology (NIT) situated in Shillong, Meghalaya is one among the thirty NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 of the Parliament of India.

  • Institute of national importance with full funding support from the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
  • The Institute admitted its first batch of B.Tech students in July 2010.
  • the first two batches are carrying out their studies in the Mentor Institute, NIT Surat.
