Manipur University, Manipur was established under the Manipur University Act 8 of 1980.It was converted into a Central University on October 10, 2005. The University has teaching cum affiliating authority over entire Manipur. It presently has 76 affiliated colleges & 1 constituent college under its jurisdiction.

2 Girl’s hostel (Urirei, Kombirei) established on July 24, 1982. A new block is given to fresher students while Old block is reserved for Research scholars & senior students |

Scholarships:
What is the eligibility for Admission to B.Ed.?
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's degree and / or in the Master's degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences / Humanity, Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme. The reservation and relaxation in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government / State Government, whichever is applicable.
