About College
International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai was started under the joint sponsorship of Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Government of India and United Nations in July 1956. It was formerly known as Demographic Training & Research Center (DTRC) but was assigned to its present title and declared as a ‘Deemed University’ under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Govt. of India) in August 19, 1985.

A small Class Room/Lab with 16 systems. All systems configured to 1Gbps broadband internet connection on 24x7 basis. Built in Network attached storage (Nasstor) server for data collection

Observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st October to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Achievements:
- The Institute celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006. Students from 42 different countries of Asia, North America, Africa and others received the training successfully.
- The Institute had conducted several important surveys like National Family Health Survey (NFHS), District level Household Survey (DLHS), and National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) etc.
