The Nanaji Deshmukh Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya is one of the premier institutes of the country. It was earlier known as Madhya Pradesh Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya. The University is the leading and one of the finest institutes in providing excellent education, quality training and research facility in various branches of Veterinary and allied sciences. It’s academic curriculum and excellent research facilities has made it to become a leading university in its segment.

• The university was set up under the Madhya Pradesh Act No. 16 of 2009
• The University has become a leading institute in providing quality education in several branches such as veterinary, fisheries and allied sciences
• The university offers Post graduate degree courses in 17 different disciplines. There are 15 Post graduate degree courses in Animal Science, one in Animal Biotechnology and one in Wildlife Health Management. The university also offers Doctoral degree programs in 14 different disciplines
• The University was inaugurated as College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Jabalpur on 8^th July, 1948

Facilities

Research Centre

The university has an Agricultural Research Information System (ARIS) Cell in its campus. The cell provides various services such as Internet accessing facility, printing &scanning facility and statistical data analysis.

Livestock Farm

There is livestock farm of the university at Adhartal. This farm is situated opposite to the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya. The farm is spread over a huge land whose area is around 65 acres. Inside the livestock farm.
