Central University of Kerala is the only central university in Kerala established by Central Govt. in the year 2009. University receives funds from the central govt. CU-Kerala offers a unique opportunity to be in the fast-paced learning environment. The University campus is spread over 310 acres of land. University’s biggest strength is its faculty many of them have many years of experience in teaching.

Extracurricular Activities:
Library: University Library started functioning in October 2009. The library is fully automated with the KOHA open source Library System. The library has a rich collection of books also is powered by an internet connection with a speed of 8 Mbps. Library also subscribes to various journals and magazines.
NME-ICT: University is part of the national mission on education through information and communication technology projects. This project of MHRD is launched to cater to the learning needs of students in India.
Hostels: There are 4 hostels (2 for boys and 2 for girls) on the university campus in which 100 students can be accommodated. Students are required to submit the application form with two photos at the time of admission if they need accommodation in a hostel. Rooms are available on a sharing basis. Sports and recreation facilities are also provided to students in hostels.
