About College

Karnatak University Dharwad (KUD) established in the year 1950 when it got became a statutory university by the then Bombay Presidency under the Bombay Legislature by the Karnatak University Act, 1949.

  • Its jurisdiction extends up to the districts of Bagalkot, Belgaum, Bijapur, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Uttar Kannada
  • The university has a splendid location in the state of Karnataka within the beautiful surroundings enveloped in serene beauty
  • The campus is spread over a massive area of around 750 acres of land and flaunts superior architecture going with the green surroundings
  • The university offers courses in a spectrum of fields including Arts, Commerce, Science, Education, Law etc.
  • It is the second oldest university in the state of Karnataka situated in the beautiful region of Dharwad
  • Under the affiliation of the university, there are five colleges present in different parts of the state and 224 teachers, 47 PG Departments, and 4500 students
  • The university has been recognized by UGC and has also been accredited by NAAC

Cultural Organisation

It has formed a cultural organization with the name “Vishvachetana” to push cultural activities and togetherness among teachers, students and other staff.

Sports

Karnatak University sports section organizes competitions and selection for the students of the affiliated colleges of seven districts according to the calendar.

Karnatak University is sprawling over 750 acres of land. The campus is provided with following infrastructural facilities such as Computer Centre,Health Centre, Canteen etc.

Library

The university has well-equipped library with seating capacity of 300 readers. The library has collection of over 3 lakhs of books. It has 10000+ volumes and 45966 bound volumes. The library also has 32111 UN Publications.

      Job opportunities are good for Microbiology. But there would not be any campus recuriments. We have to search ourselves on own for jobs.

      Admission criteria - Bachelors degree obtained through the 10+2+3 system from any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India. A Relaxation of 5% aggregate is there for SC, ST candidates.
