Jaypee University of Information Technology  (JUIT) is a state (private) university in Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India. The University provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level studies and research in engineering and applied sciences disciplines. It is providing the best education in the field of information technology. The Institute has been on a roll since its inception. The students are getting all the facilities to get groomed in the most educative manner possible.

• The University has also been accredited by the NBA.
• The Jaypee University of Information Technology can also be called J. P. University of Information Technology and JUIT.

• It was established in the year 2002 vide Act No. 14 of 2002 through the Extraordinary Gazette notification of Government of Himachal Pradesh dated the 23rd May 2002.
• The University starts functioning from the month of July 2002.

Facilities:-

Library: The University provides a really fantastic library that is very well equipped.

• The name itself is terrific - Learning Resource Centre JUIT.
• There are 4 floors that provide around 2500 sq feet of a superb area.
• 500 students can be accommodated.
• A huge collection of books, magazines, journals are there.
• Computer programming and various software development have been provided for users.
• Both internet and intranet facility is there.
• There are 19,397 textbooks, 10,257 references, and other books. All total the books section accommodates 32,687 books.
• There are 1099 B. Tech Project Reports kept.

Computing: There are adequate numbers of desktops provided. Students no longer have to wait for their turn as it happens in any other place. Five computer labs have been provided and many are colored printers too.

Festivals:-

• "Sanrachna" National level civil tech fest: Civil Engineering Consortium (CEC) is a non-registered and non-profit technical organization of JUIT, Solan. CEC was formed in February 2008 with an aim and idea to inculcate technical and professional skills amongst the students of civil engineering at JUIT. CEC is responsible for conducting several Seminars, Workshops, Technical Events & Technical Conferences all related to the field of Civil Engineering.
• Le Fiestus: It is a three-day event organized by JYC-JUIT Youth Club, held in March or April. In 2011, it was 8 -10 April and called "Le Fiestus 2011" with the theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (World Is One Family). The celebrities during the night events were DJG Kilogram (featuring singer Girish Kilogram), Bodhi Satavas, Vishal-Shekhar (Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani), and actress Shruti Pathak.
• Tech fest "Murious": "Murious" is a technical festival of JUIT organized by Tech Club, JYC Murious means "limitless" and aims at bringing out talent in students from all domains to vie for honor. With events ranging from robotics to programming to some fun-and-frolic events like junkyard wars, it tries to give JUITians a three-day respite from their routine toil. It is usually held during January.
• Diksha: The welcome day for the incoming batch.
