Kachchh University was established in the year 2004 by Government of Gujarat under Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma Kachchh University Act, 2003. It is affiliated to Gujarat University. It is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC). It is an active member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for cultural activities.
