About College
Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University (SVVU) was established during the period of 1955 to 2006 to extend the education and services in the fields of Veterinary Science, Dairy Technology and Fishery Science.
- The establishment of three Veterinary Colleges, the first at Rajendra Nagar during 1946, the second at Bapatla during 1955 and the third at Gannavaram during 1998.
- The College of Veterinary Science, Tirupati has celebrated Golden Jubilee Year during July, 2004 to July 2005 and the year long Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the College were officially inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy on 30th September 2004.
- Tirupati campus have 4 storied independent building which was funded by ICAR to the tune of RS 15 Lakhs.
- It is spread over almost 5, 000 sections of land comprising of the Head Quarters and constituent institutions.

Hostel-The University provides hostel facilities for the needy students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls which come with their own canteens. A good quality food is served four times a day.
Auditorium- The University has a large auditorium which is used for events and festivals special occasions, convocations and cultural programmes.
Achievements:
- Exploited Embryo Transfer Technique in Ongole cattle.
- Developed 100 combinations of low cost Livestock and Fish rations using agro by products
- Developed ILR 90 Jubilee high feed conversion efficient layer strain of poultry
- Conservation and upgrading of Punganur cattle is being carried out through biotechnological approaches
- The marine crab and sea bass culture as an alternative species to Tiger Prawn developed

Admission eligibility for 1) B.Tech - Applicants must be NRI ie., Children of NRIs. NRIs originally belonging to Andhra Pradesh will be preferred. A Pass in 10+2 or Two Year Intermediate examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the University or Board with the following subjects mainly Physical Sciences, Biological or Natural Sciences, English. The candidate must have passed in each of the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects at the qualifying examination. Candidate must have studied in English Medium.

At the time of 6 months internship program there experienced doctors suggest students how to do the work. There is good placement in this University. They offer us job with good payments. So many pharmaceutical companies gave us commission also by promoting their drugs also. We also have an opportunity in differend aspects like Rural development, poultry farming and Dairy.
